Experiment 005 / Make movement material

MotionField

Direction leaves a wake. Confirmed gestures change the force law, never the privacy boundary.

Camera starts only after click. Frames, landmarks, signals, and particles stay inside this browser.

Effect boundary

Motion signal + confirmed gesture → fixed particle buffer. Raw landmarks stop before the renderer.

Question

Can palm velocity drive an effect through a clean signal boundary?

02

Hypothesis

Stable ownership, elapsed-time velocity, smoothing, jump rejection, and confirmed gesture modes should create a field that is expressive without exposing tracker internals.

03

Deterministic evidence

  • Direction reverses without a frame-count dependency.
  • Stillness remains below motion hysteresis.
  • Long gaps and impossible jumps restart acquisition.
  • Short dropout freezes velocity; long dropout expires.
  • One owner remains stable when a second hand appears.

Not yet proven

Physical direction error, camera-rate stability, blur, occlusion, lighting, varied devices, and the five gesture force laws still require real-hand measurement.

06

Decision / revise

Keep the signal boundary. Tune force laws with physical evidence.

Deterministic motion proves the architecture and failure behavior, not the expressive quality of real tracking yet.
