Experiment 006 / Shape intent in space

ObjectBench

Pinch and move to translate. Close fist, then move to rotate. Spread two open palms to scale. One fixed cube keeps response legible.

Camera starts only after click. Scene, frames, landmarks, and transforms stay inside this browser.

Question

Can gestures transform one wireframe cube without transform jumps or clutter?

02

Hypothesis

Locked actions, explicit release, and baseline reacquisition should keep movement causal and recoverable.

03

Mappings

  • Pinch + palm displacement translates X/Y.
  • Fist + palm displacement rotates pitch/yaw.
  • Two-hand span ratio scales around selected center.
  • Open palm, point, ambiguity, and dropout transform nothing.
04

Scope

Exactly one cube exists for every viewport. Creation, selection, deletion, and undo belong to Experiment 008, where containment and set operations are explicit research questions.

05

Recovery

Candidate baselines disappear on rejection, release, dropout, or owner loss. Recovery reacquires a fresh baseline before the fixed cube moves again.

06

Provisional keep

One fixed cube is coherent enough for real-hand validation.

Deterministic transforms and fallback controls pass. Physical tracking conditions still decide threshold tuning and final product direction.
